Food writer, cook and Carousel favourite Rosie Birkett returned to Carousel in November 2016 for her second residency.

Inspired by her foraging adventures on the Walthamstow Marshes with ‘John The Poacher’, as well as her recent travels through Italy and Japan (resulting in a suitcase from Kyoto packed with kombu, kewpie mayo, sancho pepper and bonito flakes, just for the occasion), Rosie’s menu was bursting with wonderful ideas like her own version of takoyaki, wild boar ragù with celeriac noodles and – cameras at the ready – crab apple doughnuts. All accompanied by a delightful selection of natural wines (naturally)…
