Chances are Marianna Leivaditaki has already cooked you one of your favourite meals ever. Chosen by Sam and Sam Clark to open the second Morito in 2016, Marianna’s bold Mediterranean flavours were an instant hit. Faithful to the things we all loved about the Exmouth Market original but with a fresh and exciting Aegean edge that was all Marianna’s own, she became a star overnight.
It all began on Crete, where Marianna grew up in a family of fishermen who also happened to run – and still do – one of the island’s loveliest restaurants. Her deep connection to the sea and the mountains has shaped her approach to sourcing ingredients, pairing them imaginatively and presenting them on the plate so they’re already halfway to your mouth before you’ve even laid eyes on them. Her evocative and uniquely personal food is a marriage of cultures and traditions from the Aegean and the Eastern fringes of the Mediterranean.
Following the roaring success of Marianna’s sell-out residency with us last spring, we’re hyped to be welcoming her back for a second spin on the Carousel. Expect another flavour-packed menu that will have you transported to the Aegean coast.
