Loosely translated as ‘little party’, Little Jarana is the epicurean expression of owner Abraham Artigas’ infectious sense of hospitality, generosity (and humour).
This laid back bistro pops up each summer in the Mallorcan coastal village of Deiá, serving a small-but-perfectly-formed menu of contemporary Mediterranean favourites to locals and out-of-towners alike. As Abraham says, “it’s a short menu; you don’t have to decide what to get because you should order it all”. Dishes like ‘razor clams, lardo and chipotle’; ‘gnocchi, bottarga and fennel’; and ‘pears, Amontillado, cream’ are paired perfectly with Abraham’s carefully chosen selection of low intervention wines (some local, all on point).
Abraham has a way with flavour, cultivated on his travels around the world and his time at the helm of Michelin-starred ‘Terra’ in Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Catalonia. He describes his style as “simple yet complex”, but more than anything, Little Jarana is all about putting a smile on your face that’s as wide as his own. “It’s all in our mood, the salt in the air and the sound from the speakers”.
