CAPE TOWN

Emazulwini

27th June – 8th July

With her exhilarating contemporary take on traditional Zulu cooking, super talent Mmabatho Molefe has catapulted Cape Town restaurant Emazulwini into the international spotlight, earning herself a place on the World’s 50 Next list along the way

Together with her all-black, all-female kitchen team, Mmabatho masterfully weaves age-old techniques with modern innovation to elevate typically humble, home-style Zulu and Nguni dishes into fine dining creations that are as visually arresting as they are delicious. Her seasonally-changing tasting menus celebrate local, often under-appreciated ingredients, artfully reimagined into plates like her umbila (sweetcorn custard, corn salad, chickpea shoots, mealie bread); imfino (porcini-dusted cod, pumpkin leaf, Swiss chard, sorghum, oyster mushrooms); and umfulamfula (pineapple beer sorbet, bread & butter sauce, beer jellies, beer caramel).

Join us as we reach the 300 guest chef milestone with a suitably extraordinary tasting menu from one of the world’s culinary pioneers at the very top of her game.
