Calçot season is here and to celebrate the return of Catalonia’s iconic – and crazy delicious – allium, we’re firing up the grill and flying over our old mucker Mathieu Pérez from Barcelona to paint the town romesco red.
You’ll know Mathieu from Percherons, Bar Brutal and King Kong Lady, but he now has a small but perfectly formed place of his own in BCN that’s rapidly becoming a cult favourite: Señora Dolores.
Join us in the Wine Bar as Mathieu and our own Ollie Templeton serve up a special Calçotada menu featuring the likes of Bunyols de Bacallà (salt cod fritters), Trinxat (fried potato, cabbage and pork belly) and Cap y Pota (veal ‘head and leg’), alongside Ollie’s mangalitza skewers, flatbreads and chocolate mousse (finished with olive oil, Maldon salt and hazelnuts).
All served alongside a special list of lively Catalan Wines, picked by our wine supremo, Josh.
The Calçotada party runs from 5pm ‘til close on Saturday 17th February.
