It’s life drawing, but not as you know it.
We’re more than excited to be bringing back artist Jennie Webber’s hugely popular Wild Life Drawing workshops. The idea is simple (yet genius): instead of human models, animals ‘sit’ for us, while artist and wildlife enthusiast Laura Cuppage not only instructs us on the ins and outs of drawing them, but also provides interesting insights about the animals themselves, from their characteristics to their habitats.
This time, we’ll be drawing and exploring the animals of the Galapagos, from tortoises to iguanas. Of course, the animals attending haven’t come all the way from the Galapagos, they’re rescues from a local reptile sanctuary, but are cousins of the animals that populate the islands.
While we draw, we’ll be hearing from the Galapagos Conservation Trust about the unique ecosystems that exist on the islands, as well as efforts being made to protect this area of diversity and its vulnerable animals. 10% of each ticket sold will be donated to the Galapagos Conservation Trust.
Workshops run from 11am to 1pm or 2pm to 4pm so, if you’re looking to make a day of it, we recommend combining with a lazy lunch at the wine bar… now that’s what we’d call a perfect Sunday. Read the full menu and book in here.
This event is now sold out. To join the waiting list, please email info@carousel-london.com
The workshop is open to all, from beginners to advanced. Children aged 5 and above are more than welcome as long as they’re accompanied by an adult also taking part in the class. All drawing materials are supplied, including paper, but please feel free to bring colours or any other specific media you might like to use.
