Summer is here. Finally. We’re making up for lost time with a series of sunny weekend afternoons in our back garden in the company of some savagely good wines, chosen especially by our favourite suppliers.
First up, Alex Percy – AKA The Modest Merchant – will be releasing a selection of his summer favourites into the wild, including a couple of lively pét-nats from the Alsace and a dark-style rosé from Castilla-La Mancha described by Alex as ‘juicy, fresh and crunchy’ (yes, crunchy). Alex has been part of the extended Carousel family since the early days and is responsible for introducing us to some of our all-time faves from over the years, so you’re in very good hands.
To make an afternoon of it, we’re dusting off the sound system and taking the sting out of your future hangovers with a killer line-up of crowd-pleasing small plates from the Carousel kitchen, including grilled green pepper and Ibérico pork ‘montaditos’, crispy ‘boquerones fritos’ (to be eaten whole like the Penguin from Batman) and some astonishingly good cured meats and cheeses.
Your £10 ticket gets you one of a limited number of seats in the Carousel garden and a glass of our all-natural Mongarda prosecco to kick things off, poured by Alex from limited-edition magnums. There are two sittings to choose from: 12pm-2.30pm and 3pm-5.30pm.
