Solidarity Suppers is the fundraising event that raises money for Palestine through community driven dinners. The brainchild of Matt Emmerson and Ben Marks, co-founders of Perilla and Morchella, and communications agency founder Gemma Bell. The initiative rallies London’s restaurant community while raising funds and awareness for those suffering in Gaza and beyond. Last year the collaborative initiative saw a run of sold-out dinners, with 100% of proceeds directly supporting vital humanitarian work for those suffering in Gaza and beyond.
On Sunday 12th April, the event will take over the entirety of Carousel’s Charlotte Street home, with guest chef appearances from Hector Henderson, Suzie Bakos, Malik Acid, Gabriel Pryce of Rita’s, Naz Hassan and Alessandro Boscolo of Lupa alongside Carousel’s very own Cometa – on the oysters – and Chuck’s smashburgers.
In addition to the food, two panel talks will bring together an incredible line-up of speakers; Ahmed Alnaouq (We Are Not Numbers, Gazan), Malak Mattar (Gazan artist), Dr Khaled Dawas (British surgeon who spent time in Gaza in 2024, via MAP), Manal Ramadan White (MD of Zaytoun), Yasmin Khan (cookery writer and human rights campaigner) and Anna Patrowicz (Nabeeth wines).
There will also be a fundraising raffle with prizes kindly donated from friends in the industry.
Tickets for entry are priced at £15, with guests able purchase food in the form of ticketed vouchers, to be redeemed at different sections of the venue, all in aid of raising money for Medical Aid for Palestinians and Amos Trust.
Doors will open at 5pm, with food running until sell-out, finishing at 10pm.
