The brainchild of Turkish-Cypriot super talent, Keiran Mustafa, Kıbrıs pays homage to the traditional meyhanes of his homeland and mainland Türkiye. Keiran is a certified ‘gun’ – think senior roles at Chez Bruce, The Harwood Arms and Mayfair’s BiBi, where he was opening head chef; and, most recently, consulting for opening of the year, Oma – but it’s now time for him to make his own very personal culinary statement.
With deep-rooted cultural significance, the traditional meyhane serves as a communal cornerstone, the magic of which has never quite reached this city. Until now.
Remixing classic Turkish fare with elevated technique and the finest produce he can get his hands on, Keiran is setting out on a solo mission to reshape Turkish dining culture here in London. Expect wall-to-wall hits like ‘Hummus, Braised Lamb Neck, Pine Nuts’; ‘Black Eyed Peas, Braised Greens, Poached Skate’; Minced Beef & Lamb Fat Kebab’; and ‘Fried Yufka, Tahini Helva’, that hit you in a Mediterranean wave of colour, one after the other, all with freshly baked bread, until you raise your napkin in polite surrender.
