Great Mexican food is one of life’s true pleasures. Our next ‘Friday Night In’ has just one aim: to put a smile on your face. A wry smile that says, “oh yes…”, as you simultaneously nod your head with approval, finish your ambitious first mouthful and wonder where you put the kitchen roll.
Place your order by midnight on 5th February and you’ll receive a lockdown care package in the post containing all the ingredients you’ll be needing for the perfect Friday night in. Chopped, weighed and (sustainably) packaged up for the cook along on Instagram.
There are Spicy Vegetable Escabeche Tostadas with Lime Mayo to jump start the taste buds while you tackle your first cocktail of the night, a ready-to-go Mexican Daisy, made with The Botanist gin, Ginger, Chilli Syrup, Lime Juice and a dash of Pomegranate liqueur.
Then come those beer-battered fish tacos, which you’ll be loading up with Cabbage and Gherkin Slaw, Burnt Corn Aioli, Habanero Salsa and Avocado. We’ve paired these with a fresh and lively – while at the same time just a little bit savoury – Carousel classic, the Pickled Paloma: smoky Quiquiriqui Mezcal, Pickled Grapefruit Juice, Salted Lime Juice and a splash of Soda for the win…
