If you haven’t heard of Kate Austen yet, then you soon will. We’d say this woman is going places, but quite frankly, her career so far is already as glistening as it gets.
Having perfected the classics at Marcus Wareing (**) and Morston Hall (*), Kate followed her passion to Scandinavia. Not one to do things by halves, she quickly landed a job as head chef at highly acclaimed AOC (**) in Copenhagen. With her time there further cementing Kate’s hardcore dedication and ridiciulous attention to detail, she then moved on to work as sous chef at Frantzén, Stockholm, currently holding three Michelin stars and ranked No. 6 in the world…and all this before the age of thirty.
Now back in London sizing up her next big project, we’re thrilled that Kate is joining us for a week at Carousel, with a menu close to her heart. To her, “food is about sharing experiences with loved ones”, so, for her first solo residency, she’ll be taking everything she’s learned from a decade working in some of Europe’s most respected fine dining restaurants and channeling it into a more relaxed, celebratory-dinner-party-with-friends kind of vibe. Expect “indulgent, decadent and above all delicious food that will hopefully blow your mind”… We can’t wait.
