Who better to open the new Carousel than our buddy Carl Ishikazi?

One of our all-time faves, the Swedish “sushi Jedi” is the genius behind Stockholm institution, Sushi Sho, and its daily-changing omakase menus of out-of-this-world tsumami (drinking snacks). Not only does the twelve-seater hole-in-the-wall have a Michelin star, it also boasts one of the Swedish capital’s most enviable sake cellars.

But don’t expect any hushed tones here… Sushi Sho’s real charm is its laid-back, unpretentious vibes and its soundtrack of 80s bangers. Well, that, and Carl’s extraordinary way with a Japanese knife.

Joining us for a record fifth time, including a rainy pop-up in St Ives and our sake-fuelled 5th birthday celebrations, Carl and the team will be applying classical Edomae-style techniques to the best of the Cornish day boat catch, executed to absolute perfection.
