Give old possessions a shiny new lease of life with this hands-on, step-by-step guide to the art of metallic screen printing with artist and textile designer Nicole Line.*
In this metallic spin on the popular art of screen printing, you'll have the chance to experiment with 'textile metallic foiling', transforming last season's cast-offs into must-have accessories. Here's how it works...
Have a rummage at home for 2-3 items which you would like to transform through foiling - this could be a shirt, a cushion cover or even a notebook. To make the most of the workshop - and to maximise your up-cycling time - you can even have a go at making your own stencils at home. Nicole recommends using thin acetate sheets to make simple designs which are no bigger than A3. Be as creative as you like but just try to avoid using paper for your stencils.
Once you're done unleashing your inner Andy Warhol, you'll round off the morning with a tasty two-course lunch and a glass of something fizzy in the Carousel restaurant.
Shine on you crazy diamonds.
*Unfortunately Nicole can no longer attend the workshop but a substitute teacher will be covering.
